Father-Daughter Session – Shreveport Family Photography

Good Thursday morning! Today, we’re sharing a few images of our good friend, Larrion, and his daughter, Lauren. Larrion purchased matching outfits for himself and Lauren and asked us to grab a few pictures of them together. Nicole and I thought it was such a sweet idea to not just have family pictures but daddy and daughter pics! Lauren absolutely has her daddy wrapped around her little finger!  Here’s just a few sweet images from our impromptu session in their backyard…

That’s it for today! This weekend is a certain handsome man’s birthday (MINE!), so we may have a picture or two to share from that next week! Plus, we’ll have a beautiful high school graduate on the blog next week as well! Have a great weekend!

Isla Catherine – Shreveport Newborn Photography

On May 9th, the Berg family welcomed it’s newest member, Isla Catherine.  My brother, Christian, and his wife, Mollie, welcomed their sweet little girl into the world, and we were all so happy to meet her! We were even more excited to finally find out her name!  Christian and Mollie kept her name top secret until she was born.

Nicole and I have seriously been looking forward to having a niece!  (You can see the Etsy Finds post featuring Isla’s baby gifts here!  We already have her one year picture outfits!)  I got to hold our adorable neice just a little bit after she was born and instantly fell in love!  She is just too precious!  And, when you have such a beautiful little niece, you can’t NOT take tons of pictures!  So, just the other day, Nicole and I visited Isla at her new home and captured some beautiful images of her!  We posted this first picture on our Facebook page yesterday…

Isla was so sweet for her session! She slept almost the entire time…and she even posed for us!

And maybe even gave us a smile!

Isla was too funny! She kept wanting to spread out to sleep…much like her Aunt Nicole…

How sweet is this little face?!?!?!

And for our last image a little something special (and even a little cheesy!). Christian and Mollie took a vacation to Kauai, HI, about 9 months ago.  So, seeing as little Isla didn’t come with a made in Hawaii tag, we thought we’d snap a Hawaiian themed photo!

Christian and Mollie, Isla is just beautiful! Nicole and I are so happy to have such an adorable niece! Blogstalkers, get used to seeing this sweet little girl! She’s going to be a regular on our blog!

Bailee – 1 Month Old – Shreveport Photography

On Sunday, we spent the afternoon with little Bailee and her family.  Bailee’s mom, Ashley, received a gift certificate from her sisters, Heather and Ashlie, for her baby shower, so she used it to get photos of her new little girl.  Bailee wasn’t in the mood to sleep for those cute sleeping baby shots, but, with her pretty blue eyes, we’ll forgive her for being awake.  Here are our favorite shots…

We managed to get one sleeping baby shot…

…but she quickly woke up again!  It’s almost like she’s laughing at us in this next shot…

We’ll end with a picture of Bailee and her big sister, Rylee

Ashley, thanks for bringing Rylee and Bailee over for a session! You have two beautiful little girls!

A Second Shooter’s Perspective

We recently had the opportunity to second shoot a wedding in Jackson, Mississippi, with Mark Eric, an extremely talented Louisiana photographer.  It was a great learning opportunity for us thanks to Mark answering any and all questions we had!  With Mark’s permission, we’re sharing a few of our favorite images from Amanda and Jeremy’s wedding.  (Be sure to check out Mark’s blog to see Amanda and Jeremy’s engagement photos!)

One of the great things about second shooting is that it’s a chance to test out angles that you may not normally shoot from. For example, the first sight.

During the bride and groom portraits, Mark posed his couple for a killer shot! While Mark was getting the ultimate shot, we grabbed shots from our secondary and tertiary angles.  (Nicole mostly wanted to share this image because Amanda’s dress is stunning in this photo!)

As a second shooter, we try to shoot as many details as possible. While the main photographer is capturing group photos or off with the bride and groom, we have the chance to grab some of the details that are super important to the couple.

With an extra hand or two, you can grab some fun images that wouldn’t normally appear. In this case, Mark looked at me and said it would be cool to grab a picture from the balcony of the room where the girls got dressed.  He, of course, needed to stay ground level for the super important processional photos, so I ran upstairs and captured a few scope images before hauling down the stairs for the full ceremony.

And it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t make sure to capture a killer image of a super cool car. But, in this case, it wasn’t me…it was Nicole that grabbed an amazing picture of this 1969 Thunderbird convertible. That was a sweet ride!

A big thanks to our new friend, Mark Eric, for letting us hang out and learn from him! Nicole and I have been so lucky in our photography careers to make friends with the best of the best.  We cannot thank the people who help us along the way enough! So thanks again, Mark!  We really look forward to working with you again soon!

That’s all for now! Check back soon for a blog post featuring an adorable 1 month old baby!

The McCoy Family – Shreveport Family Photography

A couple of months ago, Kevin’s oldest brother, Kenneth, asked us to donate a session to an auction raising money for our nephew’s (Kristoffer’s) daycare. We’d, of course, do anything for our sweet nephew, so we said “yes.” In the end, Robin won our session in the auction! So, this past Sunday morning, we met up with the McCoy family for a photo session around their home. Here’s some of what we got that morning…

And we’ll end with a family photo…

Robin, thanks for donating money to First Beginnings Week-Day Child-Care! Blogstalkers, next week, we’re sharing images from a wedding we had the wonderful opportunity to second shoot with Mark Eric, so be sure to check back!
