Whew! October has been a crazy busy month, but we wouldn’t have it any other way! We finished off our October weddings with Ben and Anne. They were married at the First United Methodist Church in downtown Shreveport and partied afterward at the Petroleum Club. From a sweet First Look to a Ferrari exit, here are a few sneak peeks to tide you over until a big blog post later this week!
Do you want to know the secret of a gorgeous wedding? It’s pretty simple, and it has nothing to do with money. The best weddings focus on the couple, their love, and the commitment they’re making to each other. The best weddings have family and friends who are overjoyed that the couple is taking this step together. Luke and Laura Beth’s wedding had that in spades. Exuberant. That’s how I’d describe their wedding. From the Luke’s sweet glances at Laura Beth to Laura Beth’s contagious laughter to the wedding party’s vibrancy…the whole day felt special from start to finish.
We first met Laura Beth while photographing a wedding at 601 Spring in downtown Shreveport. Laura Beth was one of the wedding coordinators for 601. She made the comment early on that we’d photograph her wedding. When Luke popped the question, we were honored when the two contacted us to begin discussions about their wedding day. From our initial conversations, we became excited. You see, Luke and Laura Beth weren’t interested in having a traditional wedding. They wanted their wedding to be bright, colorful, and fun. Basically, they wanted their wedding to reflect who they are as individuals and as a couple. That. That right there, people. That’s how to make your wedding standout in a sea of copycat weddings. If you focus on elements that showcase who you are, then you can’t go wrong.
Stephanie Coker with Wild Love Events helped Luke and Laura Beth’s vision come to life. From the decor to the flowers, Stephanie’s design was spectacular.
The ceremony and reception was held on Luke’s family property. The wedding party (and Stephanie!) all camped out in tents the night before and the night after the wedding. Since the couple currently live in Shreveport, Louisiana, and decided to marry in Mississippi where they’re both originally from, they wanted to incorporate Shreveport into their wedding somehow. Enter the Great Raft Brewery 318 beer wall! They created this wall to be a photo backdrop for guests.

Absolutely magical!
What an incredibly magical wedding.
These photos are breathtaking. What a fun wedding and gorgeous setting.
If you’ve ever met Luke and Laura Beth, then you know instantly just how much these two are in love. Everything about their wedding was so “Luke and LB.” We’re sharing a few sneak peeks, but I promise there are lots more amazing photos coming soon!
Chris and Helen were married this past weekend at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in New Orleans. St. Stephen’s is special to Helen and her family because that’s where her mom and her grandmother were brides as well. Following the ceremony, everyone gathered at The Columns Hotel to celebrate. And celebrate they did! The reception was full of laughter, love, and shenanigans!
