Alex – Shreveport Senior Photographers

You know that kid in high school who seemed to have it all? That’s Alex. He’s good-looking, smart, and friendly! He’s involved in several extra-curricular activities, including sports and theater. And he’s set to attend Baylor as a college freshman next school year! Not only that…he was a breeze to photograph! Here are a few of our favorites from his session…

Good luck at Baylor, Alex!

Star Trails

In October of last year, a friend of ours, Mark Eric, took a landscape photography class in Lake Tahoe. He posted this pretty epic picture of himself standing on a rock underneath the Milky Way. After seeing that image, I was inspired to do something epic as well. It was this picture that convinced Nicole and I that Lake Tahoe was where we needed to go for our anniversary trip. While researching star photography, I came across something else that really caught my eye…star trails! I had grand ideas of Milky Way pictures and star trails but, unfortunately, it was cloudy every single night we were in Tahoe! So we came home with no star trails and no Milky Way pictures, but I still wanted to capture an epic star trail photo.

I recently emailed the head of the Shreveport-Bossier Astronomical Society, and the next night I was at the observatory working on my first star trail! I was very pleased with how my first star trail photo turned out. It is the first image you’ll see in this post. I was even happier when I got an email asking if my photo could serve as the background for the next Shreveport-Bossier star party invitation!!! Personally, I think these star trail images are pretty amazing, so let me know what you think!

I also thought that star trails would serve as a great advertising image, so I emailed one of our favorite Shreveport wedding venues, Los Paloma in Benton, Louisiana, and offered to take a few images for them. I took these next two images on the night of a full moon, which is why they look almost like daylight!

And finally, the star party invitation!

That’s it for today! If you live in or near Shreveport don’t miss the star party on April 20th!!!

CeCe – Shreveport, Louisiana Photographers

CeCe is a familiar face on our blog.  We photographed her and her cousin, Cassidy, almost a year ago.  As one would expect, we’re always thrilled when we’re able to photograph clients on multiple occasions!  CeCe has grown so much since the last time we saw her!  She’s at the age where I think kids are the cutest.  Yeah, yeah…2 years of age has a bad reputation…but it’s also when they’re just starting to become their own person.  And that’s when they become super entertaining!  As with most 2 year olds, CeCe dictated most of the session.  Luckily, she was content to give us pretty smiles in a few great spots!  Here are a few of our favorites…

Blogstalkers, check back tomorrow for a peek at a project Kevin has been working on!

Mallory – Ruston, Louisiana Photographers

Nothing makes us happier than emails like the one we recieved from Mallory! See, we first met Mallory at Mike and Amy’s wedding last November. So it thrilled us that she liked our work so much that she wanted us to take her maternity pictures! We met up with Mallory in Ruston, Louisiana, this past Sunday on an absolutely perfect day! Mallory’s brother’s house was a great background for this session as we had lots to work with! Here are just a few of our favorite images from the day…

Mallory and Jay, we had a great time with you guys! Get plenty of rest because the next 3 weeks are going to fly by! Blogstalkers, check back tomorrow for a few images of a familiar face!

Beau & Anna – McKinney, Texas Wedding Photographer

Occasionally, Nicole and I are asked what it is about wedding photography that makes us love it so much. The answer is pretty simple…the amazing couples we are able to photograph. Nicole and I have been so blessed to have absolutely amazing couples, and today’s couple is no exception!

Anna and Beau encompass everything that makes us love wedding photography. They have fun together, they are best friends, and their love for each other is so clearly written on their faces. And, in addition to that, this couple is flat out adorable!!! Nicole and I met Anna and Beau in downtown McKinney, Texas, early last Saturday morning for their engagement session. It took maybe twenty minutes for us to catch our first glimpse of their secret “I love you” signal (even though we had no clue what it meant until they explained it later in the session). It took about five minutes for Anna to tear up when recalling how Beau proposed to her (it involved Beau singing to her!). But it only took about a minute for us to be incredibly happy they chose us to be a part of their wedding day!

We planned on shooting a bit longer than usual since Anna and Beau had lots they wanted to capture, but we ended up shooting even longer than expected! We were having such a great time with these two that it quickly turned into the longest engagement session we’ve ever shot! We met up at 8am and didn’t stop shooting until about 1:30. Ok, to be fair, there was about 45 minutes when we stopped to have lunch at this very tasty burger place called Square Burger. (Square Burger gets a huge must visit in our book! All four of us got something different and we were all very happy!)

The McKinney square is great in that they have zero chain stores or resturaunts. So every place you stop by is local. Some local shops are featured in this blog such as, The Book Gallery. A rare book store with the friendliest owner you could hope to meet! And, if your wife is a minature schnauzer fan like my beautiful wife, then you’re in luck! He has the sweetest little dog in his store. This store is a book lover’s dream as it has all kinds of rare and cool books. In fact, I picked up a few old cowboy books for myself! Also featured is Coffee Squared on the Square. A super cute coffee shop with some great employees! Finally, a few images from Peachy Keen yogurt where we all enjoyed a sweet treat!

I could go on and on and on about this super sweet couple and the great time we had on their engagement session, but for the rest of the blog I’m going to let the pictures do the talking!  Get ready for tons of images because just COULD NOT narrow it down any further!

Anna and Beau, we cannot wait for your wedding, but we’re also stoked for Anna’s upcoming bridal session! :)
