Getting to Carnegie Hall – Shreveport, Louisiana Photographer

How do you get to Carnegie Hall?…Practice! Practice makes perfect, so Nicole and I occasionally take to the streets to practice our craft and keep sharp.  Recently, another local photographer, Erica Hayes, who we are friends with thanks to facebook groups, asked if we would like to get together to practice some off camera lighting.  We love sharing what we’ve learned with others and we love learning what others may be able to teach us…so, of course, we said yes!

We met up with Erica on Wednesday afternoon for our practice session.  Erica’s daughter, Lexi, was kind enough to model for us and, as you can see from the pictures, she definitely has some experience in front of the camera!  The purpose of our practice session was to get a very dramatic look to the image by using off camera lighting. If we were shooting these images with natural light only, we wouldn’t get the same results at all! Lucky for us, mother nature was kind enough to provide a gorgeous sunset as our backdrop! (Mother nature also provided us with about a thousand mosquito bites, but it was worth it!)

Erica, thanks for coming out to practice with us! Nicole and I had a blast!

Have a great weekend!

The Nelms Family – Shreveport, Louisiana Photographer

This past Saturday morning, Nicole and I met up with the Nelms family for a session.  Aaron and Lisa initially contacted us for their family photos but ended up wanting to include Aaron’s parents and sister as well.  That was more than ok with us!  This group was tons of fun, and we were able to capture several images that really showcase how fun and unique this family really is! First up a full group shot!

This little guy is Mason…how cool is he?!?!

Mason has some pretty cool parents, Lisa and Aaron!  Aaron is into photography himself.  Too bad he’s not into portrait photography because his wife would be a great model for him!

Also along for the session was Aaron’s sister, Amanda! Nicole and I both agree that Amanda is more than welcome to contact us about pictures any time!  Such a pretty girl!

And, finally, here’s a shot of Aaron’s parents, Bruce and Shannon!

Like I said, these guys were lots of fun!

And to end the blog, one last group shot!

Guys thanks so much for being so much fun and being up for anything!

A Second Shooter’s Perspective – Hayley and Seth – Lafayette Wedding Photography

This past weekend Nicole and I were lucky enough to get to work with the amazing Mark Eric! We’ve had the privilege of working with Mark before (here), and we were super excited to be able to work with him again! This wedding was held at The Caldwell House in Abbeville, Louisiana.

Now we always give credit where credit is due and all of the credit for posing and location choices goes to Mark Eric. We were simply there grabbing secondary angles. As a second shooter, we are looking to grab a laugh/smile/moment that may happen while the main photographer is working to grab the important must-have shots. Now as much as we would love to post every single image, we are just sharing a few of our favorite “couldn’t-not-share” images from this wedding! Make sure to keep an eye on www.markeric.com to see a full blog post of Hayley and Seth’s wedding!  (You can actually see one spectacular image on his Facebook page now!)

And, finally, before we share the images…a quick note about Hayley and Seth, the lovely couple. These two were flat out adorable! From the moment they saw each other, it was obvious to everyone that they are just head over heels for each other! They constantly laughed together, smiled at each other, and didn’t hold back their love for one another! It was fun to see how happy these two were to become man and wife! And now for the images!

Mark, Nicole and I had a blast working with you! It is always great to get to visit with you! And, to Hayley and Seth, we very much enjoyed meeting you two and being able to play a small part in your special day!

Blogstalkers, we will be back next week with a couple of sessions from this upcoming weekend.  So check back on Tuesday!

The Howells – Shreveport Photographer

Good morning! Today we are sharing Part 1 of a recent session with our old friends, The Howells! Little Hampton has been the star of our blog on two different occasions, and we were super excited to get to see him again! The first part of our session centers around Halloween! Hampton has to be the coolest little spider ever!

And to end the blog, a picture of Hampton’s parents, Natalie and Issac!

That’s it for now, but we’ll be sharing the rest of this session soon!!!

Blogstalkers make sure to stop by back on Thursday as we’ll be sharing a few images from the wedding we second shot this past weekend!

Liam turns 2! – Shreveport Family Photographer

Today, we’re sharing photos from a recent session with one of our favorite clients, Liam!  Liam and his parents have been our clients from the beginning of Berg Photography, and we greatly appreciate them for their continued faith in us!  This session was to celebrate Liam’s 2nd birthday!  He’s a huge fan of trains…Thomas the Train, in particular…so a railroad theme was decided upon for his session!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great weekend!
