Leena – Shreveport Senior Portraits

We’re excited to share today’s blog post with everyone!  Today, you’ll meet Leena, our senior rep for Airline High School in Bossier City, LA.  Leena was scheduled for her session yesterday, but, as those of you in the Shreveport/Bossier City area know, it was a rainy day.  Much to our delight, Leena and her mom, Traci, were our favorite kind of clients…ones who are up for most anything!  They agreed to meet up with us despite the rain for a quick session.  Here are our favorites…

Beautiful, isn’t she? We have another session with Leena in the works, so you’ll see her again very soon! Traci and Leena, thanks for taking a chance on us and agreeing to play in the rain! We think it was totally worth it! In fact, we’ve already ordered a canvas for our office. Blogstalkers, we have a few more sessions in the works over the next few days, so keep checking back!

Travel Dreams

Good morning!

Nicole and I just happen to LOVE to travel, and, well, we’ve been travel dreaming lately. So today’s blog post is dedicated to some of our can’t-wait-to-visit travel destinations!  We actually have pretty exciting trips lined up for late July/early August and late September, but Nicole is a planner. She’s always working on the next trip…you know, the one we haven’t booked yet.  So we’ve been discussing our options for our next travel destinations!  Here are our top 5…(NOTE: None of these photos are ours! All were acquired from www.morguefile.com!)

Norway

My Grandfather was born and raised in Trondheim, Norway, which is enough for me to want to visit! But Norway also happens to be BEAUTIFUL!!!  It has fjords, the Northern lights, and even ice hotels!  As kids, our Dad always had us watch the video at the end of the ride at Disney’s version of Norway in EPCOT. At the time I didn’t appreciate the video, but now I see the absolute beauty of that country.  Check it out and you’ll be quickly sold on a trip to Norway, too.

Alaska

The last frontier.  Nicole and I actually were pretty close to moving to Alaska not too long ago…and depending on how hot it gets this summer we still may consider it!  We also looked into getting married on a glacier in Alaska (which is something we would kill to photograph! hint, hint!).  We know most people take an Alaskan cruise, but that isn’t really what we have planned for our dream Alaska trip. We really want to spend more time on land checking stuff out and grabbing pictures! Of course, we’ll have to fit in a short cruise to visit Glacier Bay!

Great Britain

This trip is really for pure selfish reasons as it is just for me to brush up on my English accent…well and if there’s time to make a stop by Wested Leather Company to pick up a jacket or two. (Wested Leather made the jackets worn by Indiana Jones in Raiders of the Lost Ark!)

China

Do I really need to explain this one?  I mean the Great Wall is visible from space…frickin’ space!  Yeah, we need to see this in person.

The Outback

Oh, our beloved Australia, where Nicole refers to me as Drover, or just Hugh…by my request of course!  We honeymooned in Australia, but that trip only took us to a small portion of this beautiful country.  There is a train ride across the outback that we are dying to take!

These are just a few of the many places we hope to travel! We’d love to hear from you, so feel free to comment with a place you would love to visit! We’re always looking for new travel ideas! And, of course, more than just traveling to these places, we’d love to shoot weddings there, too! So, if you’re planning a destination wedding, we’d be glad to tag along!

Just so you’re aware, Mack and I had a conversation TODAY about needing to make a yearly travel schedule.
    On our list were:
Photo Safari with the Bergs in NOLA
Two week driving tour of the British Isles (also, duh, make the Bergs come)

And, ya know, whenever you feel like going up to Alaska, we’re down for that, too. YAY!ReplyCancel

Jessica & Jason – Austin, Texas Wedding Photography

Today, we are sharing a few of our favorite images from this past weekend’s wedding that we photographed in the Austin, Texas area. The wedding was technically held in Kyle, Texas, at Texas Old Town, which is a beauitful wedding venue. This year, Nicole and I have been lucky enough to be able to photograph weddings in several different locations and states either as primary or secondary shooters! So, if you are wondering if we like to travel for weddings, we LOVE it!!! So far this year we’ve been able to shoot weddings in Granbury, Texas, Jackson, Mississippi, Layfayette, Louisiana, Austin, Texas and, of course, Shreveport, Louisiana!  We are always up for traveling, so if you like our work and want us to shoot your wedding, let us know and we will be there!!!

This particular wedding was a bit different than our normal weddings as it was a big family reunion. Jessica, the bride, is my cousin and her parents are two of the greatest people ever! And, when Uncle David and Aunt Mary throw a party, you don’t want to miss out!  My Aunt Mary announced a “no family member works at the wedding” rule, but she loved our work so much that the rule was broken just so Nicole and I could be the photographers!  Nicole and I love us some Texas weddings, and the Austin area is so beautiful.  We were more than happy to photograph this wedding!  The wedding was beautiful, the weather was perfect, and, man, was the barbeque they served at the reception tasty! We’ll be making a trip back to Austin real soon just to eat!  Now on to the pictures!!!

For a Texas wedding, boots are a must!

Jessica and Jason opted for a “first look,” and Jason’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time was perfect!

Kristoffer, my “super” little nephew was asked to be the ring bearer, so in preparation he picked up some pretty sweet cowboy boots, shirt, and hat for the big day! How cute is this little guy?!?!?!

After grabbing the bouquets, it was time for the processional!

Such a sweet first dance!

Jason, as you may have noticed, is a firefighter, so what better way for these newly weds to make their grand exit than on a fire truck?

Jessica and Jason, we wish you all the happiness in the world and hope your honeymoon is a blast! Uncle David and Aunt Mary, thanks for taking such good care of us while we were down for the wedding, we had a wonderful time!!!

Jessica – Austin Texas Bridals

Good Tuesday morning!!!

Jessica and Jason were married this past Saturday which means we can finally share the images from Jessica’s bridal session!!! Nicole and I loaded up the car and headed to beautiful Austin, Texas for this bridal session. (Yes, we are more than happy to travel for photo-sessions!) Lucky for us, we were able to score access to an amazing piece of private property for this session. It was a beautiful Texas day that was just perfect for pictures! I’ll be nice to my Uncle David and Aunt Mary and leave out the story of how they both got a bit emotional and perhaps a bit teary eyed seeing their only daughter in her wedding dress, which was super sweet, and just get down to sharing the pictures!

These next two images are personal favorites from the session!

That’s it for today! Make sure to stop back by later this week as we share the full blog from Jessica and Jason’s wedding!
