The last several weeks have been pretty rainy here in Northern Louisiana. And, while we can rock a rainy wedding with no problems, we knew our bride, Calie, really wanted night time portraits of her and her new husband under the stars. So we kept checking the weather forecast. We had our fingers crossed that it would be fairly clear for their wedding day…and it turned out to be a beautiful (albeit, cold!) night! Calie and Jake were married in Calie’s grandfather’s barn in a beautiful and intimate setting. Calie and Jake spent countless hours prepping the barn by hanging lights and other decorations. Their work turned out beautiful!!! We knew this couple was great as soon as we met them, but even more so as we listened to their ceremony. We loved to hear their officiant mention “the reason that we traditionally place a ring on the ring finger…and that is because it was believed that the ring finer contained a vein that was connected directly to the heart…the “vena Amoris” or vein of love.” Nicole and I had that story included in our wedding and it was just so sweet and moving to hear it during someone else’s big day. And of course super bonus points were awarded to this couple when they walked down the aisle to Van Halen’s “Dance the Night Away!” Now onto the pictures!
We had some time to steal the couple away and take some night time portraits! These two were super-troopers, too! It was freezing cold outside, and they had to stand very still to get the images. But, man-oh-man, did we get some amazing night time images for this cute couple!
And we will end things with our favorite image of the night! The happy couple snuggled up under the moon and stars!!!
